Reborn

Where shadows roamed, once cast from light, A smouldering home, atoned in blight. Where once in shade, we honed to fight, These bonds now fade, oaths lost from sight.   Corrupt commands, dark words take flight, Necrotic demands, betrayal, and smite. A tragic path, trodden deeper in plight, Reborn in wrath, the last shadow knight.

Fomorian Twilight

We the unbroken once travelled through the wild plane of the fey, Weary and anxious we trod a true path to find the fomorian to slay. On a quest from the lord of the hunt, we couldn't refuse his request, For to earn our freedom from serving this lord, we choose this treacherous test. On a mission audacious, we stayed our course, ignoring gold towers of riches, We trundled on, step by step, over rocks, fallen trees and steep ditches.   chorus and oh, what a terrible sight to behold, oh what a ferocious fight we were sold, but on that night the unbroken were bold, in the dark fomorian twilight!     We wandered in violet forests, fought through an up-flowing river. We crossed a stony bridge and the thrashing trees made us shiver. The teasing Sabali stuck out his tongue, Dodging a branch having so much fun. A short and savage battle erupted, the trees sprung forth with life but corrupted. His reflexes were quick but too bad for the cat, The branches came fast, and the next one knocked him flat.     chorus   Further and further we plunged into gloom, pressing on through the thicket. A low and thundering growl up ahead, we approached bushes formed as a wicket. Darkness was looming as we drew closer, the smell of death in the air, We reached the threshold, caution but brave, and what we saw we couldn't help but stare. Before us a clearing of corrupted elves and the ugliest hound we ever did see, Sadly we failed to surprise our foes, but did we turn and flee?   chorus   Before us a battle with numerous foes, the scene was straight out of hell, A dark druid tried to conjured some evil, but Raph quickly countered his spell, The Yeth hound took to the air, and let forth a howl of dread to the ear, The magic was strong, and many of us were suddenly stricken with fear. Next he emerged, the mighty Cachalain, out of the darkness he stormed, The foromian turned his cursed eye to Enessa, and with that she was badly deformed.   chorus   But did Enessa fumble and cower? I hear you ask 'what did she do'? With disfigured arms and a hunched over back, her arrows were still flying true! Even when curse and crippled, she knew this monster and druid must die! And with that, the final blow dealt, an arrow went straight through his eye! She turned to the druid next, as the deal was she must make the kill. A briny grasp from Zeni made sure to hold the foe still. The elves now knew they were beaten, they turned tail and were routed, But no mercy was given that day, the druid and elves executed!     chorus

Mercy not Murder

Kill first for glory ...council discarded is gentlemen failing. Terrified certainly ...still standing not fleeing. Warning without attacking ...and smiling menace hidden. ...though negotiate didn't we? There was noise and questions no violence. There was guilt no blood and malice. Fearful face off-cut ...red ...turned white of sheets ...drained of all blood. Clues false directed ...poorly written words. Sure doubt nay evil was he. Known not what exactly crimes did he. He needs saving not deserving death. Followed one then doubting why ...kill to complete mission ...merciless orders these. Pride my choosing ...living over killing. Mercy not murder ...choosing ...honour of life.

A prayer to Feng

Master Feng Li.   This one has never attempted to contact you before, but there is troubling news for which one may require guidance.   This one is Sabali, student of the Shade Temple disciple to 63rd Master Kenji the blind.   The troubling news; The Hollow Man returns. One knows little about this other than legend, but one knows that The Hollow Man is somehow connected to The Raven Queen to whom you are bound in servitude.   Please, if you can hear me, one needs guidance. Should this one be concerned? Should this one act decisively? Is there evil afoot, which requires this one's expertise? Please show this one the way.   This one wishes to prove himself worthy and fulfil the oath made to the Shade Temple.

Three cats and a dwarf

On a fine winter night, In a town far from home, Three friends ventured out, To a pub in Whitestone.   And the name of this pub, Was a strange one you see? A small pub you might know, It was the bad bad donkey.   These friends were not evil, But had mischief in mind, They were looking for fun, And some trouble to find.   Simeon, Wind and Sabali, in name, The first two disguised so they all looked the same. Tabaxi in looks, roguish and bold. Into the bar, they casually strolled.   What were they there for? They weren't all too sure. They spoke to the barkeep, And some beer he did pour.   They shared in some banter, As they spoke to the man, And it wasn't too long, Til they had thought of a plan.   Sabali and Simeon then nipped off to the loo. And left Wind wondering what it was they might do.   They returned with a grin, a smile and a sneer, Then suggested that they would move on from the beer.   A fine drink of red, Which would cost a gold coin, And to the barkeep's surprise, They would ask him to join.   For Sabali had something quite secret in store, A small vial of truth serum they could slip in the pour,   It was intel he sought, From the small dwarven male, To spike him with serum, It would surely not fail.   So he juggled the glasses, And he put on a show, He shuffled so well, Even he did not know,   Simi had done it, With a nod and a wink. But which glass did he spike, Had he spiked the dwarf's drink?   Wind did not know, And neither did he, Nor did Sabali, Who waited to see.   A question or 2, And drinks kept on flowing, Who drank the truth serum? There was no way of knowing.   No clues and no leads, No useful insight, But the dwarf was good fun, And they had a great night.   Banter and laughter and giggles and jokes, And beers and good spirits and wines and some smokes. They drank and they chattered and greats tales there were told. Three cats and a dwarf were like friends true and old.

Arin

Arin; righteous, insightful, nice. All-knowing, respected, impossibly noble. A really intelligent negotiator. Also responsible, impressive, nurturing. Admirable religiousness is noticeable. Amazingly rational in nature. Awesome rigor, isn't nimble. Aggressive rarely, irresponsible never. Aura radiates incandescence nonchalantly. Assertive, reasonable, incredibly noisy! Although removed, interminable nonetheless. Aptly revered, indefinitely needed. Always remembered, indispensable. Namaste.

Hunting

Sensei.   This one is concerned.   A very large prey, this one believes is known as a Hawke Daughter Ward, has been roaming the plains. This one tried to take it down, but it's mighty talons and swarms of lesser companions forced a retreat.   This one is sorry for his failings and will endeavour to become a better hunter. Any assistance on this matter would be appreciated, but as it stands my hunting party are not yet skilled enough to catch this beast.   In other news, it appears that the great exterminator Puke Sudoku has resurfaced. It appears to have taken care of a foul pest causing a nuisance in the underbelly of Westruun.   This one wishes to visit soon to learn more and receive further expert hunting advice.   One seeks big game, for the thrill, the honour and recognition. This one is ready for greater challenges, please inform me of any notable game in the area of Whitestone.   Happy hunting.   Best wishes, Ambitions in the Hallows

Brightflame

A foggy troubled tale we sow, upon the blood we tread, A savage land of crooks and woe, a road of gold and dread. A deep abyss of tragic loss, an anguished sea of hate, A pit of somber dirt and moss, dark pacts, and blades of fate. Arrows loose and steels ignite, regret and justice tussle, Serving gods or coin we fight, redemption, hope and hustle. Cloaked in shadow, poisoned lies, secrets, tangled webs, Allies through a veiled disguise, vagabonds and plebs. But bright and valiant purity, dwells deep within our veins, Flames of brilliant surety, calms and soothes our pains. When troubles rise and bodies fade, she blossoms hope and light, Guiding forth a just crusade, for friends of murky plight. As even in the darkest null, engulfed in stormy bluster, Her shining heart will never dull, the warmth to whom we muster.

Swamp

The garden of roots, thick with lies, With mud on your boots, here you have ties. The hag now is slain, her refuge now spent, Act not in vein, be smart but lament. Sorrow and lost, as natural as day, To leave is a cost, I'm afraid you must pay. Your minds have been skewed, but waver you not, Trust in your brood, or stay here to rot.

A letter to the Shadows at home

Sensei.   This one is well.   Several dark fish fell from my grasp this dawn.   I am sorry for this disappointment.   Slippery, ferocious and far too powerful for this one's current abilities.   This particular lake contained a myriad of fish.   Please send this one fishing advice at your earliest convenience.   Kind regards, Anticipation in the Meadows

Folly of Lords

The folly of Lords is a puzzle of sorts, For they seem to have troubles so plenty, For each little problem that most of us face, Some Lords will often have twenty!   One Lord of such kind, with a curious mind, Far too often receives luck unpleasant, Others more foolish, poor and less prudish, Have such fortune and they are mere peasants!   The issue I think, is simple as pie, For these Lords are just too inquisitive, Most common men, simply live and then die, Ask less questions, and much less acquisitive.   Unwanted meetings, where a letter will do, Could find a slap or a beating with rods! For Lords may possess power, wealth and much coin, But they still bleed, and must kneel before Gods.   Similarly so, one thing you must know, Despite all their jewels and their swagger. Far from immortal, when knocked they will fall, ...Lords can still die by the dagger.

Draygon

There once was an elf who was rude. From his clasp a girl's blood to extrude. Crime was his game. Blackmail was the aim. So to a bank we must go and intrude.

Comrades

Arin is a man of God, of good and noble cause, A man so honest, of grace and class, with very little flaws. His armour shines bright with hope, his smile it sparkles too, And if you fall on to your ass, he is sure to steady you.   Enessa, dark and enigmatic, but too a heart of gold, She speaks and fights with poise and smite, a sight unto behold. To face her would be crazy, it's likely you will fail. But do beware, if you dare, you'll have Ussi on your tail.   Sargent Boom, stout and tough, has pockets full of power, When Bayou barks it's mighty bark, all foes are sure to cower. Wise with words, and quick to draw, this man is no buffoon, Only fools would dare to take him on, with his devastating guun.   Ceridwen is nothing short of an angel on this earth, A beauty beyond the realms of man, a miracle from birth. A golden halo, and hair to match, with wings she floats on air, Sworn a sacred oath, she is righteous, brave and fair.   Wind is cunning, smart and smooth, with a dagger set to match, She'll dazzle you, then disappear, and is impossible to catch. A rare and splendid diamond, through the city smog and grit, Deadly with her crossbow, before you spot her, you are hit.   Raphael crawled from the ground, when first he joined this plane, Often he returns there, as he rolls around in pain. But do not be mistaken, he may seem slightly odd, But kind is he, and sharp his steel, he perhaps could slay a god.   Zeni has intelligence, and is skilled beyond her years, But a past so full of sorrow, that her mind is full of tears. Magic flows through her veins, and shatters those it meets, Vengeance fuels her onwards, to that Captain that she seeks.   And I Sabali, openly, a Jester, clown and twit. For fun and games, are how I learn to cope with all the shit. I see the world with optimism, happiness and glee, Even when I draw my blade, I'll be smiling as you flee.   We stand as one, a force of good, we rid the world of terror, To challenge us, in all truth, would be a fatal error. So pay attention, do not ignore, these words that I have spoken, For we united, we will not fail, for we are The Unbroken!

Sabali's Haiku

Barithia: The hag is now dead. Raphael fell down again. He has poor balance.
