Session 26 - Exodus Report

General Summary

AD2000 spends the late afternoon cleaning his firearm and attempting to get the gunk out of it from the swamp. Jakuki strikes up a conversation with Feylari, an elf, and his dwarven husband Gelar Goldbeard. GG mentions he's a tradesman and happy to build a new home if needs be, but they're on the run from a criminal element from Rexxentrum, and had killed an enforcer in their escape. The duo are rather conspicuous, and aren't the only ones on the run from the wider world.   After a brief round of persuasion, it soon becomes apparent to all of the villagers that it won't be safe to remain here, and even the more stubborn holdouts agree to the consensus of abandoning their place in the swamp and moving to a safer area. Ideas for travelling throughout the Empire and suggested and discarded along with the possibilities of visiting the Kryn Dynasty or the Greying Wildlands. The only other option is South to the Clovis Concord, which is protected by the Wuyun Gate beyond three weeks of travel and multiple cities. Travelling with multiple wanted people (not to mention two drow) might cause issues when meeting authorities and population centres. The journey will be arduous and long, but no other options are in evidence. They begin preparations to move out and settle in for a last night in the swamp.   Unable to sleep, Jakuki sits beside Ongar at the night fire, who shoots him a curious look. Having been drawn to the pendants, he takes one from the quizzical tortle. After a brief explanation and a conversation with Roderick about the strange attraction to the pendant, Jakuki retires to his bedroll.   In restless sleep, he is visited by a dream of the bound and dying Ralarzika in his cave. An apparition of a dapper dressed human-form Zeke appears by his side, commenting that this appears to be his dying form in this memory. Jakuki nods, and asks what is happening. Zeke explains that he seems to be an echo, a memory of himself bound into the pendants, but remembers enough to understand what has happened to him. He mentions that he recognised the power behind his downfall to be a man by the name of Arinoth, though who or what he is remains unclear. He furnished the hags with the tools and knowledge to bind and siphon the dragon's power.   He also nods to the hammer strapped to Jakuki's belt, and voices his approval that Dragon's Tempest has chosen its new master. Other bronze dragons may be able to augment it further, he notes, if Jakuki can persuade them of his worthiness. He requests that Jakuki and the band do their best to protect his "collection" and see his community to safety.
