Session 9: So - Warehouse! Report

General Summary

Ceonwulf digs for info in a moderately well-to-do tavern, splashing the cash to find out what he can about the local crime situation, including the Crownsguard and the local families. Crownsguard are generally well-regarded, but nobody will talk about either family.
Roderick corners two Crownsguard and asks about the families. They provide background on the exotic trade and subsequently racketeering. They're originally from Icehaven, and are quite new to Odessloe. Eden Barnes is the head of that family, and they have been around for generations. The man is high class and well known, but is dead of gaze and has a cutthroat reputation. Unsubstantiated rumours of slave trading is unknown of the Shilbies, but the Barnes don't strike the guards as the type to get into that, especially Eden.
Ongar stakes out the warehouse and watches the comings and goings of the warehouse itself. Only workers from the warehouse itself enter or exit the main doors, and when a courier approaches with a package, a surprising force of several guards responds and ensures they don't enter.
Theia, Gwen and Jakuki proceed to the Central Garrison to interrogate George Barnes, and when challenged end up in front of Captain Grimmer, who the party were due to meet later in the day. After a bit of back and forth and a lot of swearing, a writ of investigation was produced and the trio were led to the prisoner under the auspice of finding out more about the Shilby clan.
