Exandria
Dualahei 25, 836 P.D.
Welcome to Exandria, the Material Plane created by Matthew Mercer and originally shaped by his crew of zany friends. While our campaigns will focus on different world events than the official
Critical Role stories, the DM of these tales strives to adhere to established canon as closely as possible, if only to save herself a headache.
The year is 836 P.D., or Post-Divergence. In the centuries since the gods sealed themselves away from the Material Plane via the Divine Gate, sentient life has risen up to reclaim the continents and archipelagos shattered and reshaped by the Calamity. In Wildemount, the war between the Dwendalian Empire and the Kryn Dynasty is exacting a heavy toll from their citizens. The bustling city-states of the Menagerie Coast make trade with the countless civilizations of nearby continents, absorbing traditions and currency alike into a prosperous melting pot of culture united by the Clovis Concord. In Tal'Dorei, kingdoms rapidly rebuilt by the League of Miracles now struggle to retain their independence and emotionally recover from the Cinder King's reign. While Issylra and the Shattered Teeth cling tightly to their relative isolation, the sprawling southern continent of Marquet is playing center stage to a conflict between an imprisoned hero, organizations harvesting his power, and Xhorhasian adventurers seeking his redemption.
As kingdoms across the land struggle over power and security, secret organizations both nefarious and benevolent are seizing this moment to strike at their enemies and guarantee a place on the world stage. Exandria needs adventurers now more than ever, and heroes of all stripes are answering the call.
As if in response, malevolent entities long thought lost or sealed away stir in the darkness of their prisons, extending their weakened influence into the Material Plane and beckoning powerful followers to aid their escape...
