History
The Split in the Race of Ras came at the time of the Two Joels. An event still clouded with Mystery even though it occurred no more than 175 Star years ago. This however is deceptive as there are 20 normal years in one Star Year so when talking about years in The Continent of Zerebim you always need to add 20 years per year. (so it has been 3,500 actual years since the breaking)
In History not all things are known, we believe the High Mystic (who was the head of the Ras Church) fathered two sons, both however were taken from him when they were still young. Both of them were educated in different ways but eventually, they both became very powerful. As a dying wish, the High Mystic requested to meet his 2 sons before he died but when they both arrived he was already dead. The Throne of High Mystic was Empty and there were now two hairs, to "Joels" in the terminology of the Ras Church. Both claimed the right to be the new High Mystic and neither would give up the position.
The conflict led to war, not a common war but a mystic war between good and evil. The War lasted for months but took no time at all as time stopped and mere mortals stood still for the entirety of the war. when the people awoke, Spring had arrived and Ras had BRoken into its two new countries that you see today.
Demography and Population
The People of Arqa belong to the Race of Ras. A Proud and Strong race of the past that are now a divided people. Those in the West follow a strong religion while those in the East follow the ways of Saurcery.
Technological Level
The most famous feature of the country is the huge blue crystal ball called "The Champion of the Ras". It is housed in The Monastery of Mobasia and is the source of positive mystic power in the country.
