Salton
A Salton (correct local spelling) is a traditional title for the leader of a group of tribes of the Liptic People.
Each Tribe would traditionally have an "Undersalton" as a leader. These would follow family lines.
Sometimes tribes of Liptic People would gather together and form alliances or understandings and they would pick an overall leader. This person was called the Salton. The Country of Attawapiskat took this title as their head of state as it represents the tradition of being the head of the collective of tribes in the area.
