Corporate-Stellar Timeline (1957 - 2400)

The effects of global warming are evident, and the first human death is attributed to global warming. An international summit is called to face growing concerns over global warming. Nations push funding to reach anti-global-warming goals. The United States of America does not participate, instead focusing on the construction of a wall on it's southern border.

The first private space station is built in orbit around Earth's Moon. Designed for luxury resort accommodation, and owned by an american corporation, Lunalux. Despite controversy due to making over 70 heavy rocket launches amid the middle of the global warming crisis, they succeed in filling all 2550 rooms, each priced at over 30 million.

After severe economic distraught, most countries of the western world accept the financial aid of the United States. This marks the founding of the New United Confederate of America, or U.C.A.

A closed-atmosphere colony on Mars has met it's population goal of 100,000 permanent residents and completely sustainable independence. They become the primary research and development contractor for the U.C.A. under private contract.

Following the tragic destruction of the ISS, the U.C.A. and EU agree to the founding of the "Sol Governed Military Force". This government-funded organization was created with the intent of advancing public space technology, advancing military technology, and functioning as an extra-planetary policing force intended to "defend attacks against Earth and her people" by enforcing a simplified set of laws. This organization is granted special permissions and rights, and has a planetary headquarters on Mars.

Lunalux and SolGov work together to establish corporate laws and regulations. SolGov maintains it's role as a military faction, enforcing criminal law, While Lunalux forms "LunaGov", a civil faction enforcing civil and corporate law. Due to their role now as the primary investment and banking firm in the solar system, they're able to directly fine indicted offenders, and deny financial support.

SolGov and Lunalux complete construction of the Argus Telescope. A massive orbital telescope orbiting the outermost part of the solar system for the purpose of detailed surveyance of planets within the nearby reaches of the milky way galaxy. This telescope will eventually enable travel outside of the solar system.

SolGov and Lunalux launch a joint expedition to discover the source of the light. This expedition will be a long-term, manned, recovery mission. Cryostasis technologies enter pioneering stages of development, being necessary for the success of the expedition due to the duration. Decades are spent stockpiling fuel reserves in order to make the trip. The mission is expected to take 250 years to complete. In 2160, construction is complete, and four people are selected for the mission. After 5 years of additional preparations, the ship is launched. It is expected that it will take nearly 200 years for the ship to reach its destination, then an additional 50 years for any data transmitted to finally reach the Sol System due to the distance.

With Nanotrasen holding claim to the richest supermatter deposits. Having access to advanced technologies, and pre-existing experience handling supermatter. Access to interstellar space travel becomes monopolized by Nanotrasen, and Nanotrasen quickly becomes financially superior to Lunalux. Nanotrasen uses their position to completely corner the financial market.
