Mauke Quake
After the success of the Thunderclap in combat scenarios the utilization of the kinetic charge coil was investigated and built upon for the Mauke Quake. A Heavy Exocore with a focus on maneuverability and damage. One of Mauke's only semi-humanoid Cores the Quake has the appearance of a raptor, its legs bear an inverted knee and and a lifted, two toed foot which allows the Quake to run at speeds of up to 40kmph. Its torso is humped, having heavy plated armor around its head and its arms extended to improve its reach.
The main focus of the Quake, its enhanced kinetic charge coils, are capable of outputting force enough to crush reinforced plate and heavy armor and while it does lack the acrobatics of its smaller counterpart its sturdy build allows it to wield super heavy weapons with little issue.
There are two models of the Mauke Quake, the standard model is built to be a mobile weapons platform with excellent close range capabilities while the variant model, referred to commonly as the Mountain Quake, loses this focus on mobility, its legs have heavy foot anchors and its torso and arms are covered in heavy plate. Its top movement is still around 20kmph though it lacks any capacity to get off the ground and if knocked prone the Pilot has little chance to right it.
Power Generation
The Maukes battery itself holds no special properties, however due to the excess power runoff from the kinetic charge coils being transferred into the battery the Quake has been known to run for an extra day or so past other Heavy Cores.
Propulsion
The unique assisted movement design in the Quakes legs means that while traveling speeds it picks up pace particularly quickly and can move at speeds faster than most Cores.
Weapons & Armament
The Quake & Mountain Quake both possess the same offensive capacity, the advanced kinetic charge coils are built into the arms of the Core, building tension and energy over time before violently dispersing it into an unarmed strike. Unlike its smaller counterpart the Quake also bears a bolt launcher in each arm, utilizing the excess heat from the kinetic charge coil this bolt is heated and pressurized, firing upon release from the arm. While not particularly accurate the bolt can be extremely damaging to even heavy cores.
Armor and defense
Though the unique leg design provides good support for heavy weapons and movement it does have one major downside, as the legs must remain as light as possible they do not bear the heavy armour of the rest of the core, making them a considerable disadvantage in an open and equal firefight. Because of this man pilots of the Quake prefer to keep to cover.
The Mountain Quake does fix this concern, the legs are heavily armored, but because of the overall weight of the unit and the limited rotation of the legs it takes considerable effort to self-right.
Communication Tools & Systems
The Quake and all variants come with a two way and wide range broadcast radio, allowing for direct communication to those nearby and back to the pilots base.
Sensors
As well as its standard optical and auditory sensors the Quake has an advanced balance system allowing for it to keep function through its considerable top-heaviness. The gait of the Quake is often very wide to compensate for this fact.
Hangars & docked vessels
Quakes must be transported in their own specialty trucks due to their size. Unlike some heavy Cores which can be disassembled the Quake cannot so must be transported intact from place to place.
