The Prowler

The Prowler is an incredibly resilient beast. It uses its tusks to gore its prey and using the fallen blood to track the victim before dealing a final blow.
It prefers to live within dust storms. Not only has it evolved a method of hunting prey with its gore method, but its sense of smell is also incredible. Much like a bloodhound, it will track down a new smell being brought to it by the dust storm and then gore it for more accurate tracking.
Prowlers travel in packs of two or three. The third is typically a pup that grows at a quick pace reaching their full size of about a horse towords the end of a year. When two packs of Prowlers meet and the pups are compatible, the pups more often than not split away from the parents to form their own pack and partners for life.
Females are gray with a light brown underbelly while males also display a deep red on the ends of their dorsal and pectoral spines. While a male's red will become more vibrant as they age, the female's gray starts to darken. Females are also roughly 25% larger than males when fully grown.
There are reports of people using Prowlers as mounts in the Wastes to assist in navigating the dust storms.
