'Mots' is a slang word referring to any of a class of freshly-turned monster who are mostly mindless, chase mortals, and are not too difficult to destroy, similar to the zombies you might see in many 20th century movie.
The witch Zara said:

"IF they survive, they'll turn into werewolves, zombi, vampires.. maybe some others.. but they're called mots because .. honestly, so many come and go they're not worth noticing, and it's really hard to tell one from another at this point."
He curls his lip at her and she takes a step towards him, frowning, and he cringes back into you.
