Eyf Melar

The children of Eyf Melar are told fables of faerie beings called the Aossi, but everyone knows they are just tales told to children. How could there be creatures who spun gold from lead, enchanted men with songs, or devoured the souls of their victims? This is a world of iron and reason with no room for fanciful dreams. Magic belongs in a bard’s song and dragons in the boastful tales of knights. Superstitious nonsense for children and the simple-minded.   Except… there are historical accounts of the Purge. It is written that “we put to the edge of the sword or gave to the fires of purification all creatures strange and fell who might prey on the souls of men”. Was this just a delusion of the masses? Was it all a political tool of the people of the times to persecute their enemies?   In recent days, there have been odd stories making their way from territory to territory. Stories that sound a lot like children’s fables. There has been talk of resurrecting the ancient Gallant Order to hunt down these rumors of rumors. Eyf Melar may yet see a Second Purge and if so, there may be dark days ahead...
