General Physical Condition

Wiry yet muscled, his abnormally small size, scarred face, and half crazed look all show signs of a physically damaging past.

Body Features

Burn scars littering his whole body though time and healing have diminished their intensity.

Facial Features

Gear like tattoos mixed with healed burn scars litter his face while his mustache seems to be growing without issue. He has two earrings on his left ear, and one on his right. His eyes are an intense blue that shine brightly when he dives into invention.

Herminicus dae Moore- Gear MAster Escorting Gimble and Imrok around

Entering the Desert

There's so much that has happened the past few days. Under siege at the tax station by a grand assembly of constructs led by a gearwarden. An enormous mechanical sphere covered in blades, and equipped with an internal ballista. It was a beautiful machine but in the end we were forced to destroy it, and old spell I found from father in the early years of my book certainly helped. There was a brain rending scream that devastated the party but we recovered well. I was able to save the crystal from within but there seems to be the essence of a mortal soul that was rent from it upon it's defeat. Salvaged the other tempest crystals and milled them to three bags of powder. A guide from Sa'alimar named Dalmias Dor arrived, a warforged with an arcane powered sled that used no animals to draw it though the sands!   I ended up converting our wagons into sleds for the trip across the desert but there didn't seem to much appreciation for the genius I used in that. Typical. Days like this I miss Toby's helping hands in my work. Despite his autonomous nature he always felt like a soul was lingering behind those eyes. I've taken the crystal core of the gearwarden in hopes that it may lead to something similar to him in the future, or to create something of immense power to help the guild.   This city is immense, the use of the arcane is overwhelming, but I worry that they are letting it be robbed and rot away. The local's ignorance of what they have is a weakness that could lead to the loss of the single greatest thing I have ever seen in this world, and I've met god beings and the librarians of death. Khalrais vaz Minat is some sort of high priest and is a typical clergy. Has some useful information but in the end is blinded by faith rather than the curiosity brought on by logical thought. Hopefully these "gear masters" will give me more help. They are also the ones who can grant us access to the tunnels beneath the city and I hope, that we can find the Pillar of Duty down there.   -OOC- Maaresh was a tabaxi fruit merchant that Merry and Ava chatted with, he has a way to land a ship on the coast nearby, Guildreign has no knowledge of this idea.   Saramiel had a deep bonding moment with Tamur that challenges his understanding of his situation and the marriage.   We will have to see what the next session brings, it could get rough if we head down.

Making Our Way Home

We managed to get home after meeting up with Seramiel on the seas. Merry was able to subdue Captain Karsel Eveningstar and in his death, secure the yellow sash of greed. We returned to Guildreign only to find the actors guild had moved in to avoid a ghost of Baron Gusiellmio disrupting the theatre. The Baron had returned as a ghost in rage as the opera we brought back from the ruins many months prior described him in a bad light.   After a brief negotiation with Xora, the Baron agreed to a dual editing between Lord Rose and the Baron. This allowed the actor's guild to return to their own hall and business to return to normal the Four Winds. A notice was on the job board from Uncle Tamur, after meeting him at an inn he offered 2,00 gold to escort him and his people to Sa'alimar. Where Gimble made note that there is the Pillar of Duty. We had a briefing with Braxton on what has happened, finally told him of the Pillars of Creation. Xora spoke to their patron to get an update on things back in Azayashi. Things are settling, but as expected.   Gimble replaced Ophilia's sign with new enchantment and when the party joined to visit, purchased sending stones. Left one with Braxton, Gimble keeps the other.   After embarking on road, the caravan enters a toll fort, where we are ambushed by mechanical nightmares! Fight on!

Portal Magic is the Worst

After finishing the temple we moved to the arcanum. It was a fatiguing fight that saw us dealing with more grell, and a monstrous clay golem. The main chamber was divided into three doors all labelled incorrectly and thanks to enchantments left we were notified of the changes of room use. We decided the graviturgy research wing was the best location to start with as the portal research was probably going to be the main problem.   Graviturgy was both a resounding success, and a difficult loss. Upon entering the room we found several grell, their weird handlers the nothics, and a huge clay golem (which is more than immune to acid weapons it turns out). There were the glowing runes on pillars which when we used magic near them, would cause gravity shifts and draw people in or away based on the runic inscriptions. The fight was hard and left most of us too tired to keep going so after scouring the room (we found an interesting oil that could be of use entering the magisters hall) I found a refined altus crystal which I will be attempting to install in Toby as soon as we return to a position where I have the time and tools to do so.   We rested outside the arcanum and I used one of Celia's travelling potions to stay awake without side effects, I think the continued use may be building a tolerance to it's rather rough impact on my body. We reentered the arcanum in the morning and lay siege to the portal research room. Horrors came for us in the darkness of that wing. Made me see Oswald Street again... after recovering we pushed on and found the main chamber where the research was being conducted. A straneg being was floating above a massive rift in the planar space and after a VERY long fight that saw several major injuries, and every bit of our strength to overcome, we managed to defeat it. Upon its death the portals closed and the arcanum repaired itself from the damage wrought by the portal's continued opening over the past several thousand years.

Exploring the Elven Temple

Upon the decision to start with the temple within the fallen elven city, the party moves in.   We fought 4 ghosts who attacked us in the main room. One possessed Imrok who we had to beat down to force the spirit out. We later discovered a large door with magic seals. As Imrok and I were left to inspect what we could, Imrok discovered that the witchfire braziers could make the weapons wielded magical to overcome the ghosts within the temple.   While working the rest of the party encountered a banshee and several more ghosts who immediately knocked Merry and Xora down. With quick action from Zheng and Ava, they held things together until Gimble and Imrok arrived. With the party together they cleaned up the book filled room and decided to spend the night at the front entrance to try and rest before moving deeper into the temple, where something loud was shaking the ancient building.   During the night the party was attacked by more ghosts who despite catching the party unawares, were swiftly dealt with. Once rested we made our way deeper into the temple having discovered that the braziers in teh side rooms once extinguished would release the runes on the door leading deeper. We found the corpse of an acolyte with a journal discussing the events after the cataclysm as well as an ancient holy text. Across from there was a room filled with the temple's wealth per the instructions of the head priest who later hanged himself.   A monstrous roar came from further in where we discovered a key, that then began to float above the ground and formed a hueg amalgamation of hate from the stranded souls of the fallen empire here. The radiant heat from it scorched both the livingt and Toby, who was unfortunately a direct target of the monster's ire. Lacking the tools and time to repair him I took to my latest invention, the field ballista, and joined my comrades in fighting the beast with all due haste. If he didn't die within the hour I wouldn't be able to save Toby. Zheng did a great deal of work, hurting, and weakening he resistances of the huge monster, despite the loss of her finger (which we later stored frozen in my bag). Ava, Merry, Imrok, and Xora were able to destroy the suspiciously placed large braziers. Oh! I forgot to mention that Xora placed an protective magic sigil around us to help protect from the monster's onslaught. Sadly, it did not help as it's raw power puled the memories and guilt of our sins to the front of our minds. Several members were compelled to weep before its rage. I myself was at a loss for action as I recalled a great many things from the streets. After what was a long and brutal fight, we were able to destroy the monster (a FLOURISHING final blow from our very own Merry!) and secure the key.   We plan to take a breather outside the temple before moving on to the arcanum, where a extraplanar portal has been ripped open within a sealed building for thousands of years. I would be lying to say I am not scared. But I believe in us, and our ability to overcome things that should surely have left weaker groups broken and slain.   May the Winds be ever in our favor.

First Day Back in Guildreign

We travelled to Guildreign, at the gate we met Russel, the old human guard who's been doing this longer than I have been in this city. Got our passes into the city and started working towards the guild hall we wanted but Ava was distracted by a bandit sheep cry and we ended up fighting a small band of miscreants. A dwarf with black beard and mohawk escaped over the roof tops. A letter was taken by Ava (later translated by Zheng).   After arriving at the guild hall we met Rodrick Ironarm (Guild secretary), we signed the roster and then met Braxton (guild master) who gave us a tour of the building. Whilst touring we met Cilia who was in a panic about an experiment gone awry in the basement. After slaying the homunculus and cockatrice that were down there only suffering light injuries to Ava and Sera, we returned upstairs and finished our tour. We were then tasked with delivering sweet rolls baked by Rodrick's daughter.   Crimson Banner to the left led by humans Alexander Kross, secretary Levi Kelte. They gave practice weapon order to be delivered to the blacksmiths guild, and free reign to come spar at any time.   To the right we have the Laughing Mask entertainers guild led by Lord Rose. Who gave curtains and tickets to the next show as return payment for the sweet rolls.   Across the street there is the Everburning Candle Mages guild led by a gnome Oubble Skittershine a friendly sort who left open invite for us to visit to keep their guild more social. Secretary Archon manning the door.   Finished the day by working on repairs around the guild hall.
