Tilia
Tilias are gecko-like people of Everden, certainly a very uncommon sight within Humblewood. It's quite rare to see a tribe or village of only Tilias, as they prefer to socially engage with other races and become part of their communities, mostly because of their curiosity for different things and their innate love of different languages. Because of this, they might seem as a sociable race at first, but in truth they can also be quite reserved and slippery, trying to avoid any possible danger at all cost. They are also known for their attraction towards alchemical knowledge, because they tend to be quite experimental with their skin secretions.
Warmth Lovers
Tilias are widely known for being among the few races in Humblewood to have cold blood in their bodies, and thus tend to prefer warm weathers such as the jungles of the Tanglewilds, the deserts of Dustbloom, and the tropical Gasparian Isles. And although some have been seen hibernating during the colder seasons of the year, for the most part Tilias have grown accostumed to many types of weathers over the years. Yet, it isn't rare to see the ocassional tilias stop his tracks for a minute or two as he lets the warmth of the sun wash over them to regain some vitality.
A tradition of Words
Similar to Corvums, Tilias are known for having an affinity towards learning new things, specially when it comes to new languages. They find a strange pleasure in being capable of using their lips in ways they didn't think they could before, or figuring out how to say new words in unfamiliar tongues. Their language, Tilian, is known for being a language in constant change, adapting and mutating from region to region, with each passing new generation. The biggest constant of this language is its musicality, as their love for words and languages culminates in Tilias' passion for songs and expressing emotions through music. It's quite common to see a tilias expressing their emotions through songs, and some go as far as to say that it's because of an innate connection to the Great Rhythm.
Natural Potionmakers
To say every Tilias shopkeeper sells only cheap potions is a gross prejudice. Tilias almost can't help themselves, perhaps because of their innate curiosity, to experiment with the secretions of their skin. Perhaps it's part of their survival instict to find new ways to employ their natural gift, which has resulted in several tilias to naturally incline towards potioncraft. Perhaps is the fact that the secretions naturally ward off agaist disease and can be used as a medium for mixing strong elixirs. Or perhaps it's the natural result of certain tilias finding a market for fraudulently sold potions. What is known for sure is having a tilias as a friend can occasionaly lead to becoming their test subject for a new potion without being asked.
Age. Tilias grow quickly, reaching maturity at around 7 years, and rarely live longer than 50 years
Alignment. Although they aren't intrisecaly evil, their rather evasive and tricky nature makes them prefer neutral and chaotic alignments.
Size. Tilias are rather small, standing roughtly 3 feet tall and weighting only around 30 pounds. Your size is Small.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 25 feet.
Sticky Pads. Your hands have tips capable of sticking to almost any surface. You have a climb speed of 15 ft.
Slippery Skin. The secretions released by your skin gives you these benefits: You have advantage on saving throws against poison and resistance against poison damage. You have a swimming speed of 35 ft. and you don't provoke attacks of opportunity while swimming. You gain advantage when escaping grapples, and moving through tight spaces doesn't reduce your movement speed.
Potioncrafter. You are proficient with Alchemist's supplies. Additionally, you have the ability to employ your natural skin secretion in potion making, sometimes to craft replicas of simple potions. You may spend 1 hour collecting and brewing these secretions, plus some simple materials, into crude yet functional potions worth 500 gold pieces or less. The potion will be completely functional, but its effect is diminished by a factor of the complexity of the potion that was replicated. For instance, healing potions only heal for half the amount, and potions that last 1 hour now only last 1 minute. It's up to the Game Master's (GM) discretion to determine how powerful certain potions may be. The GM may even rule in side effects, depending on the materials employed or difficulty of a potion. For example, a Potion of Haste may have a 1 in 8 chance of creating an effect of the Slow spell. Should you have access to the proper materials, you can spend from 1 to 7 days converting a potion you have crafted in this way into a fully functional one, depending on the complexity of the potion.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Birdfolk, and speak Tilias (no written component). You also learn to speak and write two other languages of your choice.
