Barden Tower

Barden Tower is a hunting lodge close to the River Wharfe in the Forest of Barden, both part of the Honour of Skipton.   The lords of Skipton maintained a hunting lodge on the site since the mid-12th century. The existing stone building, a fortified house, was built by Henry Clifford, the Shepherd Lord, between 1485 and 1490, along with a chapel and a house for the priest.
