Bolton Priory

Bolton Priory is a house of Augustinian Canons beside the River Wharfe in Cravenshire. It was founded as Embsay Priory in 1120 by Cecily de Romilly and her first husband William Meschin, and was moved to Bolton in 1155 by her daughter Alice de Romilly.
