Laxton

Laxton is a village in Bassetlaw Wapentake of Nottinghamshire. It is the caput (chief settlement) of the Honour of Laxton.   It is held by Matilda de Caux and her husband Ralph Fitzstephen, who also serve as Wardens of the Forests of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. The Laxton Charter lists their rights as Wardens.
