Trireme

Trireme's are a style of ship that travel both water and air. They are used to travel between the islands of Aeolia, both sky isalnds and sea islands. Thus, many people of Aeolia began to move and live in the multiple sky islands.

When travelling between the sky islands they use a gravity controller comprised of the two minerals found only in sky islands.

The Trireme is the only large class of ship that is sanctioned to travel in the air between the floating islands.

Power Generation

The ships magitech are powered by crystals and metal, as well as solar. Most systems 'house' magic withinthe magitech, however, there is always an option for someone who uses magic to heighten or amplify the magic within the tech in order to increase the ships output.

Oars

Have an inlaid force multiplier

Apart from the inlay, it is made out of timber

Between 30 and 170 oars per ship (depending on class of Trireme)

Only used in water (they are shelved within the ship when it is in 'flight mode')

Sails

Typical sail fabric is interwoven with magitech

Light enough to catch air when the Trireme is in the water

When the Trireme is in the air, the sails help propel the ship via magitech

Additional & auxiliary systems

Gravity Controller

Two minerals (both from the bottom of the floating islands) are housed at two ends of a device. When the ship is ready to fly, they are placed next to each other. Magitech within the device (that also talks with the magitech in the sails) is used to make the ship fly.
