Mental Trauma
In late Octobre of 1004, Berwyn and his wife Kaylene were working to bring in their harvest of hog squash when a rainstorm sprang up in the valley. Kaylene wanted to take shelter, but Berwyn knew that the squash could easily spoil in the rain. He instructed her to keep working and she obeyed. After a couple more hours, they got the harvest it safely. However, the next morning, Kaylene awoke with a fever and vomited often. Over the next few days, she grew weaker and weaker. He prayed repeatedly in the chapel and brought many offerings. Finally, in desperation, he helped Kaylene into their donkey cart and brought her up to the Church of the Unfailing Bastion in Kalai.
Pastore Roguelin prayed over Kaylene and Theodandros tried to ply her with various herbs and infusions, but nothing worked. Kaylene died on 8 Novembre and was sent to the sky 2 days later by Smok's father. Berwyn is wracked with guilt about his actions and filled with bitterness towards the Gods that took his wife.

Quotes & Catchphrases
"Where have the Gods been where our crops have frozen? Where were they when my wife Kaylene died last fall? The Pastore prayed over her, but did the Gods answer? No! If the Five Gods refuse to help us, perhaps we need to find a Sixth!"
