The Heights
A wide, flagstone plaza in front of the manor that has an expansive view of the tall spires and plunging depths of Earthfall Chasm. The Heights is split into two levels. The upper level connects the main hall to the kitchens and quarters, and the eastern edge is lined with apple and pear trees. The upper portion connects to the lower via a set of stone stairs laid in a sweeping semicircle. The Thane sometimes uses the upper landing as a platform to address gatherings of the people. The lower plaza connects via several trails and staircases to lower parts of the city, including the entrance to the mine tower and the upper level of the Gallery. The Silvered Hall
The Silvered Hall is a long, wooden-floored room with a long central hearth down the middle that glows with coals that provide warmth but only a dim light. The Hall takes its name from its large timber posts that march down both sides of the hall. The posts are massive debarked tree trunks that have been covered in silvery gray softsteel and gleam with a dull reddish glow from the coals. These posts hold up massive hand-hewn rafters that support a peaked roof nearly lost in shadow overhead. At the far end, a set of spiral stairs climbs to a loft above the hall that is the Thane’s chambers. In the space below the loft, flanked by two oil lamps on tall stands, sits the Throne of the Thane, a high-backed chair topped with an impressive set of elk antlers more than an arm span wide.
