Vault of the Grand Caisson

Entries

Hidden door at the bottom of the Grand Caisson   A passage sealed off with very mundane-looking bricks (Hardness 10), with a tacked-up parchment notice to seal this site by order of Grand Patriarch Latrec and Baroness Foquet. After breaking through, they will find an asymmetric chamber of the same old ceramic surface, with beams of magical energy that lance out from the walls. Where they meet in its center, a pulsating oval of violet light shines brightly. The surface of the oval of light is so perfectly flat that it disappears entirely if gazed upon from the side. When looking at the oval from the front, a character can observe strange swirling patterns across its surface. Blood trail and many muddy boot prints lead to and from one side of the violet light, but do not appear on the other side. This gate connects to the Samraaji Mining Station in Earthfall Chasm.

Sensory & Appearance

Mural of the Panchak before they were gods:
  • Aruna (Matelot human ranger)
  • Viresh (Matelot human knight in armor)
  • Asra (Loxodon cleric)
  • Kelvish (Elf female bard)
  • Sakshi (Halfling female rogue)

Contents & Furnishings

Inside is a small room, pleasantly appointed with 2 chairs and 2 writing desks. One desk is entirely empty, but one holds a fair amount of pages covered in writing. They seem to be manuscript pages for a work entitled, "Remorse and Arrogation," by Sincére Foquet.   If a person studies them for a week, they will learn how to talk a subject through their remorse and absolve them, taking upon themselves the pain of the subject.

History

The Vault was discovered in the late 1st century by Sincére and Sorcelle Foquet, who realized its significance and its danger. The sisters were scouting the area during the construction of their stronghold, and encountered the strange cave.
