Supreme Khan
Zaklar is the current leader of the Grular people, the uneasy confederation of the horse tribes that roam the plains west of Symidia.
Zaklar has been Khan for a long time. Gaining the position by combat at the death of his predecessor, Zaklar has been a driving force behind unifying the twelve tribes and strengthening that bond through mutual alliances and marriages.
His leadership of the twelve tribes has been impeccable, surpassing everything he had set out to do all those years ago. There is strife as always, but his people are unified in that strife.
Now, as time presses on him and the aspects begin to change, his people grow restless. In the wings await several good contenders for Supreme Kahn, but Zaklar isn’t quite ready to make the transition yet.
His people are ready for war. They are ready to stretch their legs and crush the people of the west. There is little that holds them back, and even they are coming to realize that while Zaklar’s leadership has brought them to this point, it will be a new Khan that leads them forward.
Zaklar is almost ready. His people ride against their first enemies, the hated Trilians, just to the west. Long have the Trilians held the horse tribes at bay, containing them east of the mountains. Constant raids along the Reach have forced the Trilians into an exhausting and constant state of warfare. With their fighters patrolling the borders the everyday life of the Trilians suffer, from untended crops and herds to nearly abandoned towns.
Zaklar’s age is gaining on him, and his would-be predecessors await impatiently await their chance to fight for his place. There is still a little bit of work left to do before he accepts his fate and steps aside for the next Supreme Khan.
