Session 06 - Forge of Fury, Khundrukar

General Summary

The Damned continued their exploration within the Mountain Door region of Khundrukar. Notable encounters include the defeat of Burdug - Orc Eye of Gruumsh and three Orc warriors. Upon finding a stairway down to the Glitterhame, Algus Bitterbeard and Thrag were swept away while attempting to cross an underground stream and ended up an alcove separated from the party. Algus dispatched 4 Stirges with a magic missile who were going to take an opportunistic attack against the pair. Shortly thereafter, the duo was reunited with the rest of the Damned. The party later defeated 2 Troglodyte and a cage Brown Bear deeper into the Glitterhame. The party also discovered a natural cavern with 23 dwarven sepulchers. Three of the sepulchers have additional runes highlighting the date of date and the great deeds the dwarf performed in life. The names of the three sepulchers are those of Borgol the Old, Gharin Orc-Doom and Numik the Unlucky. The party found the following: Bogol's sepulcher contained a ring of gold in the shape of a dragon holding a tail in its mouth. Gharin's sepulcher contained a finely crafted warhammer with a garnet insert. The party also found a +1 longsword on a corpse covered in moss. The party also defeated 4 Gricks further into Glitterhame. Just past the battle with the Gricks, the party found the stairway down to the Foundry level of Khundrukar. The party avoided the statue traps and defeated the Duergar Spy and Duergar Warriors in the pillar room. A portion of Pyntarq's memory was restored as the party entered the Foundry level. The Duergar clearly recognize Pyntarq and he realizes that his construct right hand serves as a key to special functions of the forge.
