First skirmish: "Goblins & Owlbears"

The Bucket Brigade's first skirmish occurs several hours after meeting one another. A band of goblins riding wargs attack the party, but the goblins are quickly dispatched. During the skirmish, a pair of owlbears catch a glimpse of Featherface and join the battle. Rin is knocked unconscious by one of the owlbears in the fight, but ultimately the remaining party members manage to subdue both owlbears.

The seven of them travel south and stop at the local blacksmith shop in Moonever, a small fishing village near the southern coastline. The shop is owned by Oharn's family and they stock up on some supplies. From there they set off on their quest and head east along the coastline in search of coastal caves to examine. The area 10 square miles directly east from Moonever is carefully searched over with no trace or sign of any coastal caves. The party decides to search further down and head back to the main road.   One of the scouts, Frozen, notices something or someone is directly ahead of the party roughly 200 feet in front of them partially obstructed by the trees along the northern side of the road. They cautiously approach and the druid is able to discern the approaching sound of a small pack of wolf-like creatures approaching quickly through the trees. The human fighter pewpew is the first to get a clear view of the approaching party and sees a small goblinoid creature mounted on a wolf that immediately spots him and shouts out to the rest of his group. Soon, a short melee ensues and the goblin threats are being quickly routed. While cleaning up the last of the goblin forces, the monk notices motion behind a tree and charges in to investigate.   He ends up face-to-face with a large bear-like creature with the head and forearms covered in feathers. The ill-tempered creature immediately screeches it's displeasure before charging after the retreating monk who had suddenly decided it was wise to head swiftly back to where he had last seen the rest of his party. The party hears the screams of "OWLBEAR!!" from Featherface and soon after they see him sprinting towards them followed closely behind by a pair of charging owlbears.   While most of the party seemed fearful and on the defensive, PewPew charges towards the shouts in excitement. He'd always wanted to see an owlbear first-hand ever since he'd first heard of their existence. He had heard of their ill-tempers, but he thought the rumors were grossly exaggerated to scare little kids. Unfortunately for him, the rumors were not exaggerated as the first owlbear savagely ripped into him leaving him bloodied and unconscious within a matter of seconds. The druid and the cleric both immediately begin trying to stabilize the bleeding and eventually manage to revive Pewpew with the help of some healing magic. Meanwhile, the ranger, barbarian, and monk manage to bring the first owlbear down but not before the monk becomes heavily wounded from the beak of the first owlbear. Just as Pewpew recovers enough health to stand up, he is suddenly swatted back to the ground by the 2nd owlbear, knocking him unconscious for a second time. The 2nd owlbear is brought down by the barbarian's raging assault accompanied by a couple of well placed arrows from the ranger. The party is out of imminent danger and manage to stabilize the human fighter PewPew again. Session #1 Ended Here.
