Rime of The Frostmaiden
Each night before midnight in the icy windswept tundra of Icewind Dale, Auril would take to the back of a white roc and weaved her spell across the sky - which manifested as a shimmering curtain of light- that would illuminate the night sky and fade before dawn. This powerful magic turned midday to twilight, leaving Icewind Dale with no sunlight or warmth to melt the snow or ice trapping it in winters dark embrace. With the blizzards over the Spine of the world and terrifying winds dancing through the Sea of Moving Ice Icewind Dale became trapped in a different isolated environment then the rest of the world.
Until something was awakened.
Perhaps it was never her plan to unleash a force so powerful it absorbed her own divine spark, or if it was her plan to do such, that may never be known as the young albino teifling that slayed her ended her everlasting winter also ended her reign over the tundra of Icewind Dale.
