The Citadel of Grey Exile

The Citadel of Grey Exile was created as a temporary prison for those souls bound for judgement who had committed grave crimes in life but had no deity to claim them. These individuals were known for the ardent opposition to deities of all kinds, choosing to carry their decisions on their own backs. Those who were judged worthy were added to the Wall at the edge of the world, a barrier between the Planar Cosmos and that which lies Outside. Normally, the Citadel houses souls for brief periods, passing judgement in moments and moving on to the next plane to collect more souls. The Ebon Triad learned that a deeper secret was hidden within its walls, that of Dragotha's Wyrmhold gate. They used blasphemous weapons to pierce the planar walls and bind the Citadel between planes so their agents could free Dragotha. As minutes turned in to years, the citadel's very integrity was threatened. Only the combined efforts of TTT and F5 were able to release the tethers and restore balance to the Planar Cosmology. With the Wall's energy source restored, the Planes are better able to resist attacks from the inexplicable entities Outside reality.
