Leilon

Leilon was a small mining town that served as a convenient resting place for weary travelers on the High Road between Neverwinter and Waterdeep. The town was in good standing with the Lords Alliance thanks to the efforts of its leader Lord Pelindar Filmmarya. Trade via the sea was dangerous as the nearby shore was a shallow mudflat and the method to transfer cargo from ships at sea to land was very risky (Consisting of a series of magically reinforced barges that were poled out to meet the boats, whereupon cargo was transferred via rickety cranes that were impossible to use in high winds). Instead of relying on this form of trade most of Leilon’s imports came via caravan via Waterdeep. The Leilon military, Known as the Lances of Leilon, was composed of as many as 200 soldiers. In times of need, citizens were incorporated into a militia. Despite the high quality of law and order in the town there had long been rumors of both the Cult of the Dragon and the Zhentarium operating within the town walls.
