Session 06: Say no to Daggers!

General Summary

8/19/2020 (7) The group is continuing to explore the cave, with Silas in the lead. Silas dropped the other two daggers when no one wanted one. Silas plunged the dagger into his arm and spread some blood onto a rune-inscribed pile. The dagger is magically attached to him. It activates a “gate”. Silas convinces lots of people to take him towards a chest. Amara commands him to “stop” and he does. Amara is sitting on Silas. Morrigan offers to cut off his hand. Instead, she ties his hands behind his back and Amara stuffs his mouth. Saoirse punched him in the face before he was bound, gagged and bagged. Tizoc runs away in terror, towards groups of bones near fires. Amara casts Sacred Flame on the dagger that is still in Silas’s hand. It doesn’t seem to have much of an affect. The dagger has the appearance of all of the other daggers that we saw around. Fire makes the dagger go away. The chest was full of coins that melted almost immediately. The bones look like human hands (the left hand) and melted metal. The hands have deep self inflicted wounds. Silas mentions that there is evidence of cultists and blood magic. Stormclimber orders everyone away from the gate and states that it is very evil. “Gate to the Nine Hells” Silas warns that his skull has taken a fancy to Saoirse and Amara. Morrigan continues to rub the tattoo on the back of her neck. Stormclimber has seen it before, in his dream. He mentions that the tattoo reacted to the gate. He pulls out a (celestial) coin that is reacting. Silas believes that something has probably come through...either a lesser demon or being possessed by a lesser demon. The group left the cave and made plans to go back to Amphail and get the wagon. The group makes camp near the cave, with plans to go back in so Stormclimber can get a closer look at the gate. Saoirse spots a hobgoblin and a group of about 16 goblins leaving from the direction of the cave and heading in the direction of Amphail. Morrigan sends Tengue in to see if there are tracks behind the advancing group. He only sees one single set of human footprints.
