A resilient magical plague called the Wailing Death sweeps through the city of Neverwinter. Although it was stopped thanks to adventurers and Khelben Arunsun, the city was significantly weakened and vulnerable. The city of Luskan attacked Neverwinter during this period of weakness, but was defeated by the Lords' Alliance.
