Session 2: Securing the Sewers Report

General Summary

The Blushing Mermaid is always a good place for a discrete business meeting, with a rowdy taproom and a labyrinthine lay-out to ensure the absence of nosy eavesdroppers. Your party was received by The Guild Kingpin and Master of the Sewer Keep Genamine Kopali, alongside a black Half-dragon noble (or at least she looked the sorts). You were informed of an attack on their goods that were stored in a remote part of the Undercellar, and you were tasked with securing the route there and removing any lingering threats. As you went on your way through the damp and misty Undercellar, you walked for a good two hours through cramped tunnels until you reached your destination. Exploring the tunnel, you noticed that the grate securing the goods in question was still locked, several locks still in place, lots of riches stacked behind it - if this was a coordinated attack, this was not what they were after. After exploring the tunnels for a while and encountering some of the local wildlife, the party encountered a follower of Myrkul, currently in the process of raising a newly slain corpse back from the dead amid two older zombies that were chained to the walls of a small chapel to Helm. As the party fought the necromancer, the sounds brought two more cultists into the fray - clearly followers of Bhaal as evidenced by their choice of weapons as well as the fresh scars on their faces, still dripping with blood. Unfortunately, Majit the tabaxi was slain by one of the cultists, with three quick stabs as she bled out on the cold, wet stone floor. After the skirmish, the remaining two party members returned to the sewer keep with the news that the Cult of the Dead Three had invaded the Undercellar. While usually sticking to the Outer City and the harbor, these cultists have become a growing nuisance. The kingpin expressed her concern with their growing presence, and recommended you to visit Elfsong Tavern and seek out Reya Mantlemorn, a refugee from Elturel who has had her own dealings with the cultists...
