Session IIX Report

General Summary

The four adventures started this session in the Neverwinter Woods south of Cragmaw Castle  Recovering from the yesterdays fighting the adventures slept in and travelled through the dense forrest towards Triboar Trail. After traveling a few hours the adventures finally reached the main road and followed this towards Phandalin. Gaining access on a caravan of gypsies the adventures made quick progress on returning to the settlement.    The adventures were greeted by Sildar Hallwinter who ushered the dead Gundren Rockseeker to the Ivolen Rada for medical treatment. Milo and Gaydar accompanied Gundren to the priest who agreed to tend to the dead dwarf. While this was happening, Flemming and Uffe relayed report to Sildar of their journey to Thundertree, meeting Reidoth the Druid and infiltrating Cragmaw Castle and their encounter with the Doppelganger. Sildar informed that Halia Thornton is the new mayer of the settlement and she has sent two third-party groups toward The Old Owl Well and to take care of the Orc Trouble. He also informed that Halia is away on political business at the nearby settlement of Triboar.    The adventures rested for the night, sleeping through the entertainment performed by the four families of gypsies visiting the town.   The next day, Sildar and the adventures travelled towards Wave Eco Cave to find Nundro Rockseeker and Tharden Rockseeker who has been missing since 5-6 days.   Making haste through the mountains on horseback the adventures, lead by Sildar and guided by the map from Cragmaw castle, finally found the entrance to the cave.    A small shaft lead deep down into a chasm that defined the new entry into the cave system. Once there the adventures were meet with repetitive booming sounds. Exploring the first part of the cave revealed a dead dwarf killed in the entry to the the dungeon. Sildar confirmed that this was Gundren's brother Nundro Rockseeker  The adventures further explored the old mine further revealing glimpses of its history; Dead remains from human, dwarf, elf and goblinoid told the story of a great battle long ago. Further exploration lead to a conflict between a doppelgänger and two bugbears who were digging in a rift in the north of the cave system. After the battle, the adventures found what the bugbears were searching for, the remains of a dwarf carrying gauntlets of Ogre strength. Further exploration showed where the booming noice was coming from and later the location of an ancient forge and a workspace guarded by a flaming skull of a long dead wizard. The adventures finally found the location of the final chamber where The Black Spider resided together with his spider and bugbear minions. The final battle was close as Milo, Slider and Uffe went down for the count but the adventures prevailed leaving no deaths within their party. In doing so, the adventures burned the lair, leaving little left for further investigations. They did, however, find the last brother of Gundren, Tharden Rockseeker, dead in a spider cocoon. Tired and beaten, the adventures left the cave back to Phandalin leaving a more through investigation of the full cave system for another day.    We leave the adventures as they returned back to Phandalin delivering the bodies of Nundro Rockseeker and Tharden Rockseeker to Gundren. As a consequence of their bravery, Sildar has been given the authority to grant the adventures into the The Lord's Alliance. Following a short recreational period in Phandalin, the adventures return to Neverwinter to their respectable homes starting their new career as agents of The Lord's Alliance.
