Callidyrr

Callidyrr was a Ffolk kingdom on the isle of Alaron within the Moonshae Isles

Purpose / Function

Callidyrr encompassed all but the far northern section of Alaron, including the Fairheight Range and all lands south of the mountains. The kingdom was broken into four distinct counties. Aside from the Fairheight Range, the Dernall Forest was the dominant feature in northern Callidyrr, while the plains of Bregonshire covered much of southern Callidyrr
Callidyrr, and Caer Callidyrr in particular, served as the seat of power for the High King of the Ffolk. The kingdom's vast array of natural resources attracted more visitors from the Sword Coast when compared with any other region of the Moonshae Isles. This eventually lead to a population that was more mixed than others amount the isles.
Caer Callidyrr was the capital city of the Ffolk people on the Moonshaes island of Alaron, overlooking Whitefish Bay. Its castle was constructed from alabaster and it was the tallest man-made structure in the Moonshaes. It was inhabited by the monarchy of the Ffolk

Characters in Location
While the city is a center of culture and trade, the current morale is poor. The kingdom has little hope of regaining its former glory, dwarven allies fighting a losing battle in their homeland, and many of the Northlander subjects have revolted on the neighboring islands. All the while, Amnian spies and treacherous nobles are taking over the land that King Derid can't control. His forces are spread thin and the tension in the city is palpable. Approaching travelers will note that the city is well-guarded - battlements manned, mounted patrols circling in the distance, and each caravan passing beneath dozens of crossbowmen warily eyeing them. The city is the cultural center of the Kingdom and contains some of the finest establishments in the dwindling Kendrick empire.
