Chult

Chult is a large island filled with dense jungles, high mountains, and active volcanoes. Chult used to be connected to mainland Faerun but after the Spellplague it was left an island. The inland portion of Chult is mostly filled with thick jungles and mountain tops and along the outer portion of the country it had tropical beaches with warm waters.   The people of Chult typically lived in groups of ten to twelve families and created small villages along the coast of Chult. They were typically fearful of spellcasters and due to this many spellcasters in Chult fled to the inner jungle to practice their art in solitude. The beaches of Chult, though, were hospitable and pleasant. They had an abundance of sealife to sustain themselves, and the people of Chult would set up rain catchers to ensure they had enough clean drinking water. The people were wary of the Jungle, for it was filled with all manner of beasts.   The dense jungle in Chult is regarded as one of the most dangerous places on Faerun . There are all manner of dangerous beasts within, beats such as Crocodiles, Decapuses, Giant Boars, Tyrannosaurs, and Genoids. Besides the beasts of the jungle all sorts of races made their homes within. There were Tabaxi, Tortles, Wild Halflings, Kobolds, and Lizardfolk. There is also rumored to be a group of humans who practice Blood Magic deep within the heart of the jungle. The groups of people on the coast weren't completely safe from danger either. Pirates roamed the sea and were known to raid local villages in an attempt to seize goods from Amnian merchants that traded with the inhabitants of Chult. There were also a few Sea Hags to be found in cliffs and caves along the shore.

Blood mages are powerful wizards who have learned to turn blood into a source of arcane power. This can use either the blood of the caster or the blood of a sacrifice. While using their own blood is undoubtedly painful, its rewards are enormous to those who survive it. Blood mage training focuses entirely on using the life-giving properties of blood as a force of lethal power. The spells of the blood mage can be used for raw direct power or for bolstering the abilities of the caster.
Sacrifices are common with blood mages as they can gain power without having to harm themselves. It is said the blood mages deep within Chult use any humanoid they come across for their sacrificial rituals in order to gain more power.
