High Forest

The High Forest is an ancient forest that hosts tall, beautiful trees and groves of gold. It is said that deep in the forest, unicorns prance through meadows and waterfalls fall in glimmering mists like starlight.
In the clearing in this forest, with the only major opening being to the south, lies a nation of elves. These are regal High Elves who cleared room for beautiful cities with majestic spires and delicate luxuries. They are a nation of beauty, nobility, and serenity.
The population of the High Forest is almost completely High Elven, noble elves who take the time to appreciate the luxuries of life and live a lifestyle of beauty. They are a nation also known for their interest in the arcane arts, formerly being close allies of the elves of Halruaa, and while not as advanced, they have many of the same luxuries that existed in Halruaan society.
While the winters here can get cold, the summers are typically pleasant, being in the high 70's and sometimes the low 80's. They use a similar magic that Halruaa did in order to achieve climate control inside of their buildings.
They are also a peaceful society, with a Court that rules over them. This court is responsible for rules and regulations, foreign proceedings, and enforcing the laws. This society, while holding beauty and luxuries in high regard, are still fairly rigid and strict. They have stringent laws, and expect every elf to be a shining model of only the best possible version of themselves.
So while the society may seem tranquil and peaceful, it puts a lot of pressure on the elves to always project that image and to never show weakness or signs of distress.

The High Elves here use a drug called "Dream Sand" that is ground out of a glowing crystal. This sand with inhaled induces vivid waking dreams and a sense of euphoria that can last for hours.
