Impiltur

Impiltur is a northern nation located between the nations of Thesk and the area known as The Vast. Impiltur is a nation filled with rivers, plains, and mountains. It also borders the Sea of Fallen Stars to the south.
Impiltur is an old and noble nation, having held control of their land for thousands of years. The royal family has prevailed through the years, maintaining a consistent hold of the throne.
Impiltur has always been known as a neutral country, a place where war refugees have fled to during times of strife. Due to this increase in refugees, Impiltur's peaceful stance only grew stronger to the point they refuse to let foreign armies pass through their borders.
Throughout the entire recorded history of Impiltur, the nation has always prided itself for maintaining a strong and noble bloodline within their monarchy. The kings and queens of the nation have always claimed they have kept their bloodline pure without ever straying from their royal heritage. The only instance that contradicts this statement is with the original noble of Thesk, Delile Balindre.
Delile was a princess of the noble family of Balindre, she was the next in line to be queen of Impiltur and was regarded highly by the general public. As her father, the reigning king, began to grow older, he sent Delile to the land of Thesk, which was held territory of Impiltur at the time. She was sent to gain experience with leadership and to help placate the growing discontent within Theskian lands. Instead, Delile Balindre helped the nation declare independence from the Impilturian monarchy, and she started the first noble house within Thesk.
After this, public favor of her fell sharply within Impiltur and her younger brother was hastily groomed to take over the crown. Once he took over as king, the nation of Impiltur faltered. Under his rule, Impiltur's influence over surrounding nations faded to a minimal amount. In an attempt to cling to their remaining lands, Impiltur maintains its lasting position of absolute neutrality, fearing that wavering in this could open their lands to conflicts between the armies of surrounding nations.

Issac Balindre is the only child of the current king and queen of Impiltur. He is naturally gifted in the arcane arts, but is seen as being timid. This in turn has caused many doubts about his capacity for leadership throughout the kingdom. Isaac was the next in line after the passing of the king, and with the sudden death of the royal family, the crown has been passed to him earlier than expected. There has not been much news traveled to other nations about the young prince, but there are rumors about the rising power of Impiltur.

Ever since the assassination of the king and queen, tensions between Impiltur and Thesk have been higher than ever. Due to their previous conflicts, it is assumed by many that the assassination was carried out by Theskian citizens.
