Narfell

Narfell is a Northern country, just north of Thesk and the Great Dale. This is an ancient land, one of the oldest recorded civilizations besides the Imaskari Empire. There have been records found here that date back to -10,000 DR. Not much is known about the empire before its fall, but the information known shows it was a direct opponent to the expansion of the Imaskari empire, and the two made up the super powers of the continent.   There are also findings that show the Narfell Empire used a wide assortment of dark magic, demon summoning, blood magic, sacrifices, and such were all common among the mages of Narfell.   Nobody knows what caused the fall of both the Narfell and Imaskar Empire, but both seemed to have fallen around the same time, and both very suddenly. Items were left intact, homes were left undisturbed, and due to this many ruins can be found containing an assortment of treasures from a long lost civilization. Similar to the Imaskari Ruins, Narfell is protected by natural hazards that has helped to preserve them. The landscape here is harsh and cold, with billowing winters that can suddenly drop feet of snow on an unsuspecting traveler.   Outside of the harsh environment, this land is also avoided due to people believing it to be cursed. There are stories of travelers accidentally releasing a long sealed demon, or stumbling into an ancient arcane trap. Due to this, few have tried to settle this region, and only hardy individuals live here. There is no form of unified government or even cities. Those brave enough to live here typically live alone or with a family unit that has lived on the land for generations.
Narfell has long open stretches of land, but also contains dense forests that quickly become buried in the winter snow. For the few people living here these are haven as they have a variety of local wildlife, from snow hares, to wolves, to even large grizzly bears. These forests conceal a surprising amount of life, but they are also some of the most dangerous areas as you could accidentally stumble across dangerous ruins or a cursed artifact long last to the snow.
