Nelanther Isles

The Nelanther Isles are a collection of small tropical islands found south of the Moonshae Isles. They are a vast collection of islands with only around half of them containing potable water.
While there are some benign locals who live on these islands, the majority of them consist of pirates who have made their home here and away from the reach of continental countries. This allows them to easily prey on merchant ships from Amn, Calimshan, The Sword Coast, and the Moonshae Isles. It also allows them to intercept ships sailing between continents. Trade has dramatically expanded to other continents in recent years, and these ships have become highly sought after targets by the pirates of Nelanther.
The Johnson Trading company has become on the largest intercontinental trading companies in recent years, and due to those on the Nelanther Isles, has suffered greatly at the hands of piracy. To combat this, the company has started to offer quite generous pay for protection aboard their ships or proof of a sunken pirate ship.

Many of the islands found in this region are small with no potable water. They are typically unnamed and unmarked due to this but some of them are said to hold lost treasures buried by pirates who used these small islands as outposts.
