Guildmaster of the Phandalin Miner's Exchange.
The guild master is an ambitious and calculating human woman named Halia Thornton. In her attempts to establish the Miner’s Exchange as the closest thing the town has to a governing authority, she acts as more than a simple merchant.
The Miners Exchange will Value and buy gemstones and ore found while traveling.
The fierce woman was not harassed by the Redbrands, the local outlaws, even though all the other businesses seemed to be. Halia explains that the Redbrands are a problem. She tells how the ruffians loiter around the Sleeping Giant tap house and have a base under Tresendar Manor, on the east edge of town. She then offered the characters 100 gp to eliminate the Redbrand leader, whom the outlaws call Glasstaff, and bring her any correspondence found in the leader’s quarters. While the party did not manage to stop Glassstaff, they did recover documents that they showed Halia.
Halia offered to pay Garrosh and Brundi’s fine and got Sildar to release them from jail. She also paid for Eugene and Usah’s fine and took them into her employment.
Halia has continued to be a source of aid in the form of information and advise to the party. Garrosh confided in her regularly, and more recently, Rorich has been know to seek her out.
She ran for headmaster of Phandalin and was gaining support before advocating near the end for the retention of Harbin.
