Heavy Crossbow

Proficiency with a heavy crossbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it. Heavy crossbows deal 1d10 piercing damage on a hit.   Ammunition. You can use a heavy crossbow to make a ranged attack only if you have crossbow bolts. Each time you attack with the heavy crossbow, you expend one crossbow bolt. Drawing the crossbow bolt from a crossbow bolt case is part of the attack. At the end of the battle, you can recover half your expended crossbow bolts by taking a minute to search the battlefield. If you use a heavy crossbow to make a melee attack, you treat the heavy crossbow as an improvised weapon.   Heavy. Creatures that are Small or Tiny have disadvantage on attack rolls with heavy crossbows. A heavy crossbow's size and bulk make it too large for a Small or Tiny creature to use effectively.   Loading. Because of the time required to load this weapon, you can fire only one crossbow bolt from it when you use an action, bonus action, or reaction to fire it, regardless of the number of attacks you can normally make.   Range. A heavy crossbow's normal range is 100 feet, and it's long range 400 feet. When attacking a target beyond normal range, you have disadvantage on the attack roll. You can't attack a target beyond the heavy crossbow's long range.   Two-Handed. This weapon requires two hands when you attack with it.
