Hoard of the Dragon Queen: Chapter 1

Chapter 1: The party: Lydia 'stag' Cherellion, Ardor Reggit, Celeste Euphonious, Greyra Haphra and Omar Barthen 'The richest man alive' Act 1: The party is hired by Tycoon Omar Barthern to serve as a protection detail for him. They travel south from Iriaebior to arrive in Greenest. Upon approach the party sees Greenest in flames and rush to help. Soon after arriving in the town they meet and save the Reggits who have been attacked by Kobolds and are attempting to get to the castle for safety. Barthen goes to get help whist Karen Reggit fights of the Kobolds, Ian loses his achilleas heel in the process. The party and the Reggits make it to the castle where they take on jobs for Governor Greenhill, helping anyway they can. At this point a dragon attacks the town and the party and local garrison fail to repulse it, leading to Greenest being encircled. Cyanwrath the blue half dragon takes hostages and suggests a dirty deal in which he frees them if someone beats her in a 1v1. Ardor steps forward, bravely facing down the blue demon. Strutting up the half dragon Ardor takes his battle stance prepared to defeat his foe in one on one combat. He gets his stomach slashed open and is defeated in one hit. Luckily he is healed. The cult raids the village and leaves, taking the gold reserves with them. In the aftermath Barthen is found and has been able to call the Lords Alliance who will arrive in 3 days with 300 men. Arriving back at the castle the party finds Governor Greenhill interrogating a prisoner of war, Gob. Gob is tortured by Lydia and he gives up some info on the cult and their camp.
Act 2: The party is tasked with finding the cult's camp, learning information about the cult and recovering the towns lost gold and loot. All this in exchange for 250 gold pieces each. They travel south, joined by Gob and Barthern, they dodge straggling cult members along the route, hiding in the shadows as they went. They continue south unopposed until they reach a small valley and are ambushed by the cult rear guard. Boulders plummet down the sides of the valley and Gob is instantly killed being smashed by a boulder with Barthen falling into a coma. This results in an unorganised retreat dragging Barthen back to greenest with them to be healed and get help.
Arriving in the evening the party takes a nap with Ardor going to sleep in the stables. Upon waking up he finds he is being nuzzled by an overly friendly Hog. Later in the day the party heads out replacing Barthen with the Hog. Traversing the green fields the party successfully finds the cult's camp and plans their assault. In an effort to cause a distraction Ardor tries to mount the Hog. The Hog does not like being mounted and starts Chimping out. Using the distraction Greyra, Celeste and Lydia abseil down the side of the mountain into the cults camp. Unfortunately, Lydia and Celeste fall from the cliff, splattering on the ground almost dying in the process, Greyra manages to get back up the cliff and goes for help. Cyanwrath, takes not of this and squares up to Lydia again defeating her in one hit. As Greyra, Ardor and the Hog escape, Celeste and Lydia are captured. In captivity, Lydia and Celeste meet Leosin, a Harper who also wants to fight the cult. They attempt to escape with Lydia and Leosin being successful, leaving celeste behind how is recaptured. The party makes their third attempt to storm the camp. They are successful in saving Celeste but when they venture into the caves bellow they are easily repulsed and have to fall back and retreat to Greenest.
Act 3: Arriving back in Greenest, Leosin leaves heading to Berdusk with the aim to investigate what happens to Elturel giving Celeste his choker on the way out. He instructs the party to meet him after they have dealt with the cult in Greenest. Soon after the big cock himself Lord Corvats arrives in an airship as the representative of the Lord's Alliance, however, he arrives with 30 men rather than the expected 300. Joined by Corvatz the party head out again to the cult's camp, finding it abandoned by the cult apart from a few hunters waiting outside the cave entrance. The Hunters anger the Hog and once again he Chimps out and kills them, growing slightly after each kill. Once the hunters are out of the way the group assault the cave fighting through many monsters. During the commotion, Celeste falls in combat and is buried by Greyra shortly after. Corvatz and his men, Ardor and Lydia continue the assault on the cave. At this point, the party meets one 'Arkan the Bold' he offers to help the party but leads them into Cyanwrath. Ardor once again marks Cyanwrath preparing for a duel. Although Ardor lasts longer than their first bout he is once again defeated. On the verge of death, he is saved by Corvatz who slays Cyanwrath ending the fight. Following this outcome, Arkan once again surrenders this time to the cult and leads the party to the cult's dragon eggs. On the way, they encounter a group of Kobolds led by Slack. Arkan talks to them but uses his wormy ways to deceive the group, betraying his friends and cracks Slack's head open in the process. The first of many deceitful moments from Arkan the Bold. Following the cold-blooded murder, the party seize the dragon eggs the Kobolds have been nursing, one is destroyed, one is taken by Corvatz and the final is seized by Lydia and named 'Eggs Benedict'.
Leaving the cave the party gets back on the airship and returns to Greenest. An argument ensues with the Goblin, Jack Fewster. Returning to Greenest the party find that Ian Reggit, Ardor's father has gone missing. After a brief search, they find him unconscious in a forest, captured by Brucie the ent as part of his personal crusade against Lumberjacks. The party negotiate with Brucie and get Ian released, although he has his other Achilles heal removed. Once they return to Greenest they find that Barthen has recovered from his coma. After a discussion with Governor Greenest the party agree to chase Greenest's gold north and head to Berdusk to meet with Leosin to report their findings about the cult, who appear to be taking a route west towards the coast. The party, joined by Barthern and their new member Arkan the bold head out leaving Greenest behind, chasing the cult north in search of justice and more adventure
