HotDK 29 - "Castle Crawl 3 - into the caverns"

After entering the caverns below the castle, where the Lizardfolk guards said they last saw Pharblex and his entourage heading, you find yourself in a large fairly well lit cavern room with stairs leading up to the north and down to the southeast. You choose to go to the southeast.   You find and dispatch a pair of Bullywugs that appear to be guarding and tending to a room that is a foot deep with mud (Snapjaw comments on how the bullywugs really love their mud). This mud makes the stairs leading down to the south very slick, so much so that everyone but Snapjaw and Pubert manage to slip and fall down the stairs directly into a room full of seemingly relentless swarms of centipedes.   There are so many of them that much time is taken clearing them out but you eventually manage to do so before head deeper into the catacombs where you discover an underground pond large enough that you cannot see the far end in the darkness. Heading south along the narrow rocky beach of the underground lake you happen upon another pair of bullywug guards – this time guarding a small pond full of what appears to be giant frog tadpoles.   After dispatching of these guards, you decide it’s time to rest for an hour to gain your bearings and decide your next move. The caverns do echo making it hard to pick up which direction sounds may come from, but you have been making noise…
