HotDK 8: "Frulam is Captured"

After a few moments to gather yourselves, you head down the eastern passage in pursuit of the cultists and guards that apparently fled. You discover, however, that they weren't fleeing as much as attempting to protect Frulam Mondath, whose living quarters the next room appears to be. During the battle, Frulam attempts to move to a specific carpeted spot in the room, but is cut off by Aluric, who inadvertently discovers her escape route by getting partially stuck in the hole in the floor that is covered by a section of carpet.

The cultists and guards that were trying to cover her escape are dispatched fairly quickly, although one manages to wound Arynor fairly severely before going down. Frulam, with no where to run and also badly hurt, surrenders.

She reveals that she was primarily in charge of organizing raids to collect gold for the Cult of the Dragon and that the escape chute she was attempting to get to leads to a shrine where Langderosa Cyanwrath and his two henchmen spend a lot of their time.

Spread open on one of the tables is a simple map of the Greenfields area showing the villages the cult attacked and looted. An arrow is sketched in from the Greenfields toward the west and the town of Beregost on the Trade Way, where the arrow turns north. A separate sheet of paper that is covered with numerals in columns contains the note, "Everything must be freighted north to Naerytar. Rezmir allowed us to keep some pearls, a ring, and a handful of small stones.” Other papers are of less interest; most of them have bad poetry about dragons.

Tired and hungry from back to back battles, the group chooses to take a long rest before proceeding.
