The Duchess of Rot
Zaldara Cordress is known as the Duchess of Rot. The ancient lich lives in the
Cloakwood as she has for centuries. The rest of
The Sword Coast has an understanding with Zaldara. As long as she is not bothered, the lich does not leave the forest.
Harper Assault on the Lich’s Tower
As the Death Curse ravaged the known kingdoms,
Syndra Silvane and
Remalia Haventree led a
Harper attack on the Lich’s tower in the Cloakwood as a distraction for the Rupeethon of Annihilation party to infiltrate her tower through a back entrance to steal the Lich’s phylactery. Their plan was to ransom the phylactery back to her in exchange for information about the nature of the Death Curse. The distraction was successful, and the Rupeethon of Annihilation party stole the spellbook.
With the phylactery secured,
Remalia called for a ceasefire and was immediately knocked unconscious by a spell when the Lich appeared. The Rupeethon of Annihilation party continued negotiations, and learned about the existence of the mysterious
Soulmonger in the jungles of
Chult.
