Fairawae

A long time ago, far, far away, existed a beautiful world called Fairawae. No one is quite sure where the name came from or who named it; just that the world is as ancient as it is beautiful and anyone who did know, is presumably long dead.

  The home of dozens of races from the humble Ja'wanians to the proud and mighty Shyriiwook race, Fairawae has no shortages of mythos and legends regarding the creation of this extensive world. However, every myth and legend have one thing in common. They all venerate a special few; those able to tap into a mysterious force and wield it as an extension of themselves. They are called The Balanced. In primitive times, The Balanced were appointed as shamans of tribes or cast out in fear. Balanced individuals were either revered or reviled, there was no in between. Millenia later, as the world began to understand these abilities and this fantastic energy, the Balanced began to gather together. Nations were born on the backs and efforts of Balanced heroes and razed through the machinations of Balanced villains.   Eventually, two ways to practice your Balance were borne; The Shurma and the Moaté. The two Orders had differing viewpoints on how to maintain one's Balance and were often in violent altercations because of it. Many of the wars throughout Fairawae's history are the result of a conflict between the Shurma and the Moaté; their tenets not allowing the either to budge from their beliefs.

  Recently, the Shurma and the Moaté have been at an uneasy peace with each other, allowing the other nations of Fairawae to expand and grow their influence unabated. This has also allowed both Shurma and Moaté to continue research into the nature of the Force that ties the world together. What they find could change the course of history, for better or for worse.
