Other Homebrew Weapons
Lever Action Rifle
The gun that won the west, before the bombs fell. Obviously manufactured by others over the years for nostalgia's sake, the Lever Action Rifle can still be found in the Commonwealth along with other variants. This one found here, is chambered for .45-70, a powerful rifle/pistol cartridge.
.223 Handmade Pistol
A .223/5.56mm rifle modified and cut down to a pistol. Built with care and attention to detail, the handmade was seen briefly by other gunsmiths, and they built their own in response. Very very rare in the Commonwealth, but has a strong following out west.
5.56mm Service Rifle
Built on the existing chassis of a M-16A1 rifle, the Service Rifle is the same weapon, except gunsmiths ended up replacing the plastic hardware with more solid materials, like a wooden stock and barrel shroud. It still takes 5.56mm, and was located mostly in National Guard Armories across the country during the war.
Type 93 Chinese Automatic Rifle
The newest variant of the ancient but reliable AK-47, the Type 93 was discovered by inter-governmental organizations conducting raids on Communist Sympathizers and fronts for the Chinese Military. A hardy, capable rifle, some of these have found their way to the Commonwealth either in old Chinese dead drops, or in the hands of ghoulified soldiers.
.50 Hand Cannon
A large caliber handgun, chambered for a heavy bullet. The .50 Hand Cannon does as it's named and can fire a large round and do massive damage. The bullets, along with the gun are extremely rare, and are sought after by mercenaries and raiders alike.
Red Ryder Limited Edition BB Gun
A limited edition Red Ryder carbine action, 50 shot, range model air rife with a compass in the stock and this thing that tells time. Please, don't put your eye out.
MG-42 Light Machine Gun
A light machine gun, a precursor to all other squad automatic weapons in service until the bombs fell. Notorious for being called a Buzz-Saw, the MG-42 is more than capable of suppressing enemies at a distance, as well as cutting them down. The weapon is chambered for .308 or 7.62mm cartridges depending on the gunsmith, and what ammunition is plentiful in the area.
Browning M2 Heavy Machine Gun
In service to the United States Armed Forces since World War 1, the M2 (colloquially named Ma Deuce) has been fitted to every service vehicle from tanks to bombers, to defensive fighting positions across the world. A belt-fed monster of the battlefield, the M2 is a very heavy weapon that can be easily wielded by soldiers in Power Armor or really really strong individuals. Appalachian tinkerers as well as some Commonwealth maintainers have modified the weapon to fire Ultracite rounds, a unique property that is equivalent to depleted uranium.
PPK-12 Gauss Pistol
Praised by its users for its range and stopping power, the PPK-12 is of West German design. The pistol uses an electromagnetic field to propel rounds at tremendous speed and punch through almost any armor. These weapons are extremely rare, and were sighted for a short time in Appalachia.
