Abjuration

The school of Abjuration in its natural form appears as jagged neon-yellow rocks sprouting from the earth, humming at a low frequency and causing massive environmental disruptions as a result of this signature noise. Electrical storms and aggressive winds shield Abjuration fields, with varying levels of intensity depending on the size and potency of said field in addition to a headache from the constant droning hum of thousands of shards. In this state, the crystalline lattice will not only host one of the more prominent under-layer stratums to protect it, but also ensures the safety of nearby shards by disrupting nearby magical interference, the strength of which varying depending on the size of each individual mineral cluster, with larger collections of Abjuration within a field posing significant inconvenience for any expeditions. Harvesting Abjuration is as dangerous and lethal as it may sound, though there are benefits for being a miner of this particular school. Namely, this magic tends to absorb and nullify any nearby particulate, storing it in a stable energy form within its structure; disturb the formation, and it will release its massive charge, which could potentially kill anyone in an instant if the discharge is great enough. One must first establish a sufficient Grounding Coil before venting, relaying the violent release of energy under the earth and away from any nearby personnel. The Coil must be allowed time to fully ground its magic stores filled by the rogue discharge, for the outburst is often substantial enough to not permit immediate neutralization. While it is dissipating, the harvesting team is permitted to extract the rooted crystal, having been completely rendered inert; however, they must take care to store it in a safe location, as the Abjuration ore will still absorb nearby particulate and continue releasing a charge if not properly secured. When refining, one must also take note of this peculiarly, utilizing only physical apparatus devoid of magical presence lest a discharge is invoked, which could damage personnel and equipment. Like most schools, compressed and purified Abjuration is considered weaponized at Grade 1, industrial at Grade 2, and commercial at Grade 3.
In Meridian technology, Abjuration is typically employed in applications of structural reinforcement, nullification, and general defense. Because of its incredible stability, compressed Abjuration can be quite literally weaved into micro-sheets during imbuement, nearby Abjuration particulate immediately "snapping" to each other and increasing the overall integrity depending on the thickness of the weave. One of the most notable hybrid manipulation of Abjuration is Civil Perimeters, the Divination-half of the technology "commanding" and re-arranging the Abjuration particulate into patterns adept at countering the Evening Star. This is followed by Greater and Lesser Abjured Steel, the former of which utilized in large fabrications such as buildings, while the latter being used in vehicles, frames, and armors. It is also widely popular in "trapping", or the passive collection of ambient particulate in the air, the Abjuration weave snaring and storing any magic it comes into contact with to later be sifted, refined, and compressed.
