Masquerade^® is a transmutation based crystal enchant that changes the appearance of the user. Masquerade^® has become infamous in it's use as a tool for criminals all across the Meridian.

Masquerade^® physically changes the cells of the of the users body into different cells for a brief period of time. Masquerade^® only effects cells of the integumentary system (hair, skin, nails), causing only the outward appearance of the user to change.

Masquerade^® on its own is mainly used as tool in a variety of crimes, to petty crimes like as a disguise during a robbery to high profile crimes like framing a person for murder.

Cultural Significance and Usage

Masquerade^® gained Meridian wide infamy when it was used by individuals to impersonate vicars in an attempt to steal Astralshaper's star charts. In response to mounting criticism Chairman of the Sintasian Consumer Protection Bureau Azazel has gone on the record saying, "In regard to Masquerade^®, it is first and foremost a recreational product sold merely for the amusement of the individual user. We provide proper warnings to our consumers that Sintasia and its businesses will not be held liable if it is misused and use of Masquerade^® outside Sintasia is a crime. However, like any tool it can be misused. Does this mean we should ban anything that can be used in a crime?"

Due to the implications of freely selling a substance that could aid in crimes across the Meridian and point back to Sintasia, the Sintasian Consumer Protection Bureau banned the sale of Masquerade^® in Sintasia. During the 252nd rotation these bans were lifted.
