Varganth-Sutheochr
The Imperial City
Varganth-Sutheochr is the capital city of the Meridian of Stars' Eternal, and the largest settlement in the Meridian Eternal Equatorial Rise. Varganth-Sutheochr is home to countless thousands of individuals from the Old Races and the New, and is the administrative headquarters for every major organization that has a hand in the operation of the vast government, to include: the Great Houses, the Regent Vicarvoyancy Assembly, the Veneracy, the Legion under the Stars, and even Empress Astralshaper.
Varganth-Sutheochr is one of the few remaining known settlements to still stand from before 0.0R, the founding of the Meridian, with the empire itself actually having been founded within the heart of the city, the Astropolis. While ancient by contemporary standards, Varganth-Sutheochr is only a little over 400 rotations old. A common legend is the city was built on top of a massive lake in the center of the world and indeed, Varganth-Sutheochr is depicted at the center on every map ever drawn post-Meridian and a bed of water can be found in the inner parts of the city.
The city itself is so large, that it is divided into 30 districts, with the approximately three each being allocated to each Great House, who are divinely mandated to govern their respective districts in accordance to laws enacted by the former Celestial Assemblies and Astralshaper. These districts are a mixture of industrial, commercial, administrative, and residential sprawls. Nearly anything and everything in the Equatorial Rise can be found somewhere in Varganth-Sutheochr, making living in the city one of the most desirable places in an otherwise harsh world.
Varganth-Sutheochr is commonly referred to as "The Imperial City" because its Draconic name is much more difficult to pronounce. Varganth-Sutheochr roughly translates to "Crown of Empire"
