New Horizons Await

General Summary

The party met up in Brookhaven and Krista decided to stay behind in Brookhaven - saying that she thought she could be a better asset to the group if she worked on setting up an information network.   So the Chesterton group met their new member Magdus - a Dwarven Slayer that helped Rigel repel a small pod of Iguania who were pulled into this plane when an experiment in Thadeus's laboratory went awry.   The group gathered supplies and headed to the Dig and the Transit Well discovered in the inner sanctum of Shy-Len Stormwind.   Travelling through the transit well, the party found themselves in a nightmarish set of rooms where it became obvious had suffered when the lone resident slowly went insane. It also became clear that the resident had been trapped by skeletal warriors guarding a transit well that lead to escape.   The resident (Sky-Len presumably) seemed to have destroyed one of the skeletons but not before suffering some form of injury as dried blood was found everywhere.   Finally, when it seemed that she could stand it no longer, she forced her way past the two remaining skeletons - suffering a grievous wound that left her crippled and unable to defend herself against the final protections against her escape - the forest shamblers.   The party destroyed both remaining guardians - albeit with some wounds in trade and exited the chambers through the large transit well they guarded.   Upon opening their eyes they found themselves surrounded by an eerie forest with no animal life save a lone Elven archer who seemed to know Thadeus and called him "Thomas" before he corrected her.   She (Tiahna) informed the party that this was not Shy-Len's estate but her prison where she was driven mad and perished in the tower where her Empress commanded a monument be built to remember her as a servant of the Empire and a one-time faithful and trusted servant.   She also hinted at the nature of this land and stated that all roads would lead to the tower but that they would have to face one last challenege before being allowed to leave.   That challenge manifested itself in the form of numerous shambling mounds pulled from the forest floor itself that, though extremely fragile, provided several close calls.   The party won out and exited the tower through the remaining transit well - but not before Roman looted the carefully laid out pieces of Shy-Len's memorial.   When the light returned, the party found themselves surrounded by Elves including Tiahna and one dressed in fine, regal garments who then addresses Thadeus by the name Thomas Harken.   And that's where we stopped for the night.
