(Campaign 16) The Witch is Dead

General Summary

The Witch is Dead is the Sixteenth campaign played in Farrah. It is set in 518 AQ and played by the Familiars.    The campaign begins in the Amu Darya Forest. The party are the pets of a friendly witch. They come into the kitchen to discover that she has been killed. They spotted the killer leaving the house. The 4 animals, a toad That can read and start fires (Paul), a cat with low level telekinesis (josh), a dog that can repair broken objects (Kurt), and a raven that can speak common (max) are determined to bring her back to life. The Toad had read in a book that if they take the eyes of her killer and perform a ritual with them they can resurrect their owner.   The animals set off to nearby city of Dust. Once there they try to track down the mercenary who slew their mother. They search the town, getting food from some child gnomes.    They find the mercenary that the need to kill. The dog tries to attack him in the street but is driven off by the man’s sword. The toad sneaks into the man’s hotel room and tries to burn down the building. The mercenary traps the toad under a Mug. The Toad escapes and hides under the floor boards to get away.   The raven talks to a family of gnomes. They are very impressed with a talking animal and ask for orders. Unbeknownst to the Raven the Vetala provides messages through animals and this gnome family are a cult that worship him.   The Raven tells the cult to kidnap the mercenary, and remove his eyes. The cult abducts the man in the night and takes him to their sacrifice dungeon. The Vetala cult kill him and cut his eyes out.   The familiars return triumphant to the witches’ cottage east of Dust. The frog gets the fairy tale book that he read the spell from and directs them in the making of the potion. Once it is made the pour it on the witch and in her mouth. She does not come back to life.   Determined to find a way to bring her back to life, the Familiars set out to the largest town in the area, Quisling, in search of a wizard that can help them...
