The Seventh Campaign in Farrah. Set in 469 AQ and played by Jasin Natael (David).
Natael began the campaign operating his own business in Mitraz. He runs Jasin Natael's Acquisition and Recovery (the sign has a pig on it). While a friend to the Harpers, Natael was not actively working for them. He heard of a job being offered at Siena, the University with campuses at Mitraz and Kimbol.
The job is being organised by Anthony Darrow, an academic at Siena and expert on the Atuk Islands. Darrow is organising a journey to the Atuk Islands in search of treasure. He has already recruited:
-Fenton King, an Amu Darya Ranger with experience in the wilds;
-Samuel McCarthy, a cartographer and navigator;
-Vincent Garroth, a previously a bodyguard for an underworld figure as a 'public relations' expert
Darrow has a mysterious benefactor who insisted that Darrow hire a proficient thief and directed him to hire Natael. Natael accepts the job and the group, unable to find a legitimate vessel to travel on, hire a pirate ship The Venture to sail them to the island. The Captain of The Venture, Englehorn Denham, agrees to ferry them to near the island, but when they reach the island refuses to sail into a bay. He also demands payment up front from the group to stay and wait. Darrow does not trust Captain Denham to wait for them, and gathers the group to propose kidnapping Captain Denham's daughter, Carla Denham, and taking her to the island to keep the Captain around. Natael opposes this plan, stating that he trusts the Captain. That night Darrow has Garroth kidnap Carla Denham, and they wake Natael and, unable to object now the plan is in motion, the group sneak off The Venture and row to Atuk Island. The group land on the beach at night. They decide that it would be risky to travel into the forest with a hostage. Garroth and McCarthy are left on the beach with the hostage Denham. King, Darrow, and Natael proceed into the dense jungle. Darrow has a map that he is following, and they make slow progress up through the ferns and trees. After a few hours of trekking, King quietly alerts the others that some large creature is stalking them. King tells them he will loop back around and intercept it. He tells Natael and Darrow to count to 30 and then run as fast as possible up the mountainside. King draws his longbow and stalks away into the jungle. Darrow and Natael run frantically up the mountain, and after a few moments hear a roar from back in the jungle. The pair continue up the mountain until they find a trapdoor that leads underground. They are pursued by something large and unseen, the ground shaking beneath them. They dive into the doorway and land in a dark maze. Natael and Darrow make their way through the darkness and they can hear loud heavy footsteps in the maze. They sneak quietly around, afraid of being noticed by the denizen of the labyrinth. Natael rounds a corner and finds himself in a village street, facing down Aos the Prophet, the same showdown he faced during his Hunt for Hellstrom. Natael ducked a blast of the petrifying staff Aos carries, and ran, reappearing in the maze. He hears a cry, and finds Darrow caught in a manacle trap, stuck to the wall. As Natael starts to cut Darrow free they hear heavy footsteps and a flesh golem rounds the corner of the maze. Natael cuts the last binding and they run. Natael throws an alchemist fire at the golem, which strikes it and slows it down. They find a doorway exiting from the maze and rush through. The pair find themselves at the top of a spiral stone staircase. They descend for many hundreds of feet, before coming to a large chamber with a sleeping blue dragon, encased in a bubble of energy. Darrow instructs Natael that they are there to steal the dragon's eggs, and directs him to approach the resting beast and take them. Darrow hands Natael the Rod of Reality, a powerful item that can break the spell keeping the Dragon in stasis. Natael reluctantly sneaks toward the creature and at the rod's the energy bubble recedes. The dragon begins to stir. Natael grabs the eggs as the Dragon opens its eye. Darrow rushes forward next to Natael, removes a large feather from his hat and breaks it. A portal opens up in the floor and the pair fall through, with the dragon roar echoing in their ears. They land the main hall of what looks like a Wells Fargo. After a few minutes a man enters the room: Regent Occam. Darrow appears as surprised to see Occam as Natael is. Darrow states that he expected to meet Lamar Auralias at the end of the mission. Occam tells them that Auralias was called away on business at the last minute. Natael is understandably afraid of Auralias, as the last time he saw him Natael was falling out of Auralias' house in Vaclav, having just stolen a valuable object from him. Occam asks Darrow if the mission was successful, and Darrow directs Natael to hand over the 3 dragon eggs. Natael complies. Occam thanks Natael and says that Auralias made a good recommendation, that Natael is an excellent thief. They had an agreement that if the mission was successful Auralias would not get to kill Natael on the spot. Occam tells Darrow that they had been gone a number of months, and that he had thought the expedition lost. For Darrow and Natael only days had passed. There had been no word from King, McCarthy or Garroth, nor had The Venture returned to a Farran Port. Occam swears Natael to secrecy about the mission and sends him out. Natael emerges to find himself in Kimbol at the Royal Palace. Natael staggers out and goes to a cafe to eat and collect his thoughts. Outside on the street he sees a cart moving at a high speed crashing when trying to take a corner. A cloud of magical smoke erupts around it. Natael investigates and finds a few dead members of the underworld gang Golden Sons, but no sign of their attackers. Natael was not aware but he just missed an encounter with Dorlin of The Diplomats. Natael returns to him home city of Mitraz, and decides to start his own private investigation business. Natael puts out a bounty for the safe return of his expedition members that were left behind on Atuk Island. Natael is just starting this process when the communication feather given to him by the Harpers activates, directing him to a hidden Harper base in town. Special Agent Wesson of the Harpers is present, and is glad that someone responded to the general call for assistance. Wesson tells Natael that the Harpers have discovered a group mass producing the zombie plague that Baron Hellstrom had with him and that caused the fall of Levinas. The group is in Mitraz and is planning on releasing it around the town. With little time it is down to Wesson and Natael to prevent the apocalypse. The two rush to the dragon defense town on the outskirts of Mitraz that Wesson has identified. They break into the underground lab and have a blood battle with the alchemists at work there. The Harpers kill the Alchemists and burn the barrels full of green liquid that they were creating. Wesson thanks Natael for his assistance and returns to the Harper base. Natael finally sets his sights on home and a good day's rest. When he gets to his business/flat Jasin Natael's Acquisition and Recovery he finds a regular customer, Bishop Fisher, waiting anxiously. The Bishop tells Natael that there has been some sort of attack on Abbey de Heiron, and that there is a monk on the Abbey that must be saved at all costs. This monk is called Paolo Windspear. The Bishop gives Natael directions to a secret tunnel on the Abbey that will take them safely to shore. It cannot be opened from the mainland. Natael agrees to go to the Abbey and retrieve Windspear. As it is dark he is able to row a boat to the island without being noticed. When he reaches the island he finds it overrun with zombies. They chase him to the top of a lighthouse where Natael uses a rod of ropes to rappel down the lighthouse and flee. Natael spots a group of surviving priests and is about to approach when a warforged strike team, Titan's Ten, land nearby. The Priests rush toward the strike team looking for salvation, but are cut down by the eldritch blasts of the Warforged. Natael hides as the Ten begin to sweep the island. Natael creeps around, avoiding both zombies and the government forces. He is able to find Windspear, and together they run to the hidden tunnel to the mainland. Natael hands a grateful Windspear over to Fisher and finally gets to have some rest. PC groups in the campaign: -Jasin Natael
